Options Brewers Options

Plenty of options confronting the WCU this Friday including part 2 of our Tassie R&D tour (ciders) or alternatively an ecletic line up of show n tells. Notably a Burliegh Brewing Co 'Black Giraffe' Coffee Stout that will go head to head with our Bertie Wrout. Other notable clash of the the titans, The Gypsy Juice Wheat V Cascase Blonde Wheat. The Seven Sheds Paradise Pale and Chinay Grand Reserver notable inclusions.

Good Bye Ruby 'Goblin' Tuesday

She would never say where she came from
Yesterday don't matter if it's gone
While the sun is bright
Or in the darkest night
No one knows
She comes and goes

Goodbye, ruby tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still Im gonna miss you...

Don't question why she needs to be so free
Shell tell you it's the only way to be
She just can't be chained
To a life where nothings gained
And nothings lost
At such a cost

There's no time to lose, I heard her say
Catch your dreams before they slip away
Dying all the time
Lose your dreams
And you will lose your mind.
Aint life unkind?

Goodbye, ruby tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still Im gonna miss you...

Colder Than Kosciusko (Pale Ale)

Older than kosciusko
Darwin down to alice springs
Dealers in the clearinghouse
The settlements explode

High up in the homelands
Miners drive across the land
Encounter no resistance
When the people block the road

Old than kosciusko
Dry white seasons years ago
Darkness over charleville
The fires begin to glow

No end to the hostility
Now they wanna be somehwere else
No stranger to brutality
Now they'd like to be someone else

Older than kosciusko
Driven back to alice springs
Endless storms and struggle
Now the figes begin to rage

High up in the homelands
Celebration 'cross the land
Builds up like a cyclone
Now the fires begin to rage

Call off the ultimatum
No don't turn away
Call off the ultimatum until yesterday
Call off the ultimatum, no don't turn away
Bind up the brokenhearted
No don't turn away

Call off the ultimatum until yesterday

Round 2 - Craft Beer World Cup

After the Norweigians streeted the field in Rd 1 of the WCU Craft Beer World Cup the Danes will be looking to continue the Scandinavian domination in Rd 2with the Beer Here entry 'Hopfix'. They face the brewing might of the Belgians with Goudin Carolus entry Hopsinjoor and the technical perfection of the Japanese brew from Hitachino, matured in cedar casks. After their Yellow Snow entry in Rd 1 over promised and underdelivered the Rogue team return with their dry hopped Red Ale. The strong Aussie contingent will have to be more competitive with two strong entries. Jamieson Brewery have The Beast IPA sure to have a big pressence at 7%. The wild card entry from Prickly Moses is the limited release 'Raconteur' an IPA summed up by the brewers themselves with 'a love story about hops'. Rd 2 of the WCU Craft Beer World Cup looks to be a big battle, whenever it takes place.

The Big Bafoon

Deep in the dark winter of the southwest, another blond mop has been added to the junior ranks of the brewing team: Didge, our most refined palate and forthright voice on show & tell nights, has fathered a second son, with the working title of "Sidge". This fine young man will shortly inspire a commemorative brew - a blonde? - with the handle "get a Sidge in yer fridge".

Congratulations to Bidge, Didge and Sidge and the never iffy Cliffy.
